Your Hosts

Nic Bertino is a design leader and maker of photos, products, mixtapes, and disco. An avid Polaroid and instant film fan, Nic loves messy, imperfect, and human technology. After years of struggling to find a digital camera system that meshed with his style, he found a Leica M8.2 and instantly fell in love with the CCD sensor and the film-like images it produced. Since then, he’s expanded into film and experimenting with medium-format photography. These days, he spends time praying the shutter on his M8.2 will continue to work while shooting B&W film.

Carly Bertino is an avid traveler, born and raised on the beautiful island of Kauai. She learned photography to capture the stunning island nature and document the people and places she’d traveled to. Her first camera was a Canon T5i before landing on her first love, a Canon 5D Mark III. These days, she splits her time between the M8.2 and her Canon R6. When she’s not traveling, Carly photographs events, takes portraits, and hosts monthly critiques with friends (and wine).
